Ndzutini Female Leopard

In this striking image, Ndzutini, the young female leopard born in December 2018 to Tiyani and fathered by Hukumuri, is perched high in a tree, her recent catch, a steenbok, nearby. With piercing eyes, she gazes directly at the viewer from her lofty vantage point. Ndzutini, whose name means “One Who Likes the Shade,” inherited her ease around vehicles from her lineage, including her grandmother Salayexe and great-grandmother Saseka Female. Raised with a strong bond to her mother, she delayed her independence until nearly two years old, eventually venturing across the Northwestern Sabi Sands and beyond, exploring territories from Sabi Sabi to the Kruger’s Manyeleti and Orpen areas. Her journey underscores her resilience and determination to carve out her own place in the wilds of South Africa.
