Ngoboswan Taking Back What’s Mine
R2,850
Captured at MalaMala Game Reserve in February 2021, this photo features the Ngoboswan male leopard—a resilient survivor from the 2017 litter of the Emsagweni female. After a night spent watching him feast on an impala high in a tree, we set out early the next morning, hoping to find him again. Just before dawn, we witnessed a thrilling scene: the Ngoboswan male retrieved the remains of his stolen kill from the grass. His brother, the Eyrefield male, had taken the carcass earlier but abandoned it while fleeing. Our encounter was brief yet unforgettable, as we watched him reclaim his breakfast. Although heavy rain prevented us from following him further, it was an exhilarating start to our morning drive.
